Having accumulated well-deserved success, Tiffany Calver has broken endless barriers throughout her career so far. The 25-year-old DJ and presenter stands as one of the most prominent pioneers in the UK, uncovering the UK’s favourite up and coming talents whilst also commemorating legendary figures in music. Tiffany has continued to work through a number of mediums, from curating her own event Tiffany Calver + Friends to hosting 1Xtra’s Rap Show as their first female host. Her broad cultural awareness of both the UK and the US has allowed Tiffany to bridge a gap between the two scenes whilst growing a wide variety of listeners.

Although she remains a multi-faceted individual, her journey began as a DJ at Radar Radio, where she worked tirelessly to learn the skills required to pursue her next steps. Working in an environment that allowed for a sense of discovery, Tiffany explored her love for music and gravitated towards Hip-Hop culture. Fast forward to today, Tiffany has been the first women to DJ on Drake’s OVO Sound Radio. She was also invited to DJ for Drake at his 7 UK shows on the Assassination Vacation tour and created an unforgettable atmosphere as she brought out some of her favourite UK artists to perform alongside Drake. This included the likes of Dig Dat, Unknown T, J Hus, Mist, Lethal Bizzle, Giggs and others. Tiffany’s evident knowledge and appreciation for the UK sound formed a culturally pivotal moment that many had the chance of witnessing live, this was certainly a defining moment for the scene.

BBC 1Xtra’s Rap Show had previously been hosted by the likes of Tim Westwood and Charlie Sloth. However, as of January 2019, Tiffany became the first female to ever host the show as she took another huge step in her career after previously working on KISS FM. To date, Tiffany has continued to add to the list of gifted guests present on the show including Wizkid, Drake, Future, Stormzy, and D Block Europe to name a few. Being the first female to host the show represented important progression for all female DJs, especially within the UK. Tiffany speaks on the position of female DJs in a male dominated occupation in her latest interview with NWE: ‘There are so many areas, especially in music, where people lack an understanding of how to support and be allies in helping shift this weird, unequal balance between women and men’.

Bringing people together through music is something Tiffany has worked to push from the very start. In doing so, she previously curated a series of events under the name of Tiffany Calver + Friends. At each show, Tiffany done a set of her own but also brought out a number of guests including other DJs and artists. Her selection of guests had included Sheck Wes, P-rallel, Snoochie Shy, Lancey Foux, D Double E, Sam Wise and many other names.

Tiffany has proven herself to be a powerhouse that continues contributing to the growth of the UK music scene. From events to radio, she has shown everyone that there are no limitations.
